Nature is my main inspiration. The beauty of nature, the contrast with light and texture, punches of color and the delicate forms keep me intrigued. I'm also a mom to a beautiful little girl... and so I draw cupcakes as well!!
I've always been a creator and maker of things... busy with my hands and visually exploring my environments. I studied drawing, painting, and ceramics at the Ontario College of Art & Design in the 90's which led me to a pottery business.
My business has since changed as well as the materials I chose to work with. I now work exclusively with textiles and I print my original drawings onto the fabric by the method of silk-screening. I work from my sun filled sewing room in my home in Brooklin, Ontario.
My pen and ink drawings have become the focal point of all my current work. I had many of my drawings made into silk-screens so that I could print on linen and canvas fabrics. Many of the fabrics I use are natural fibres and organic. The inks I use are water-based and Eco friendly and are heat set to stay in place. I love to incorporate unique vintage buttons and lace to give my bags some texture and elements of femininity.
All of my creations are my own designs and patterns. Each one is cut and machine sewn by me and is truly one-of-a-kind.
Care: Spot clean, iron on reverse side of silk-screen images.
